Greetings from Save our Families – Africa (SOFA), which
was founded in 2008 by three professional and developmentally oriented youths
(Okocha Kasolo Peter, Tuliraba Atanansi and Muyonjo Hussein). Initially, the
organization was formed to assist the rural people and villagers to improve on
their health and socio-economic status and lives using an integrated approach.
Almost
6 years down the road however, the organization is trying to win and work with
a cross-section of individuals and organizations at different stages, gender,
educational level, faith, ethnicity, settings and professions, who share its
vision and mission, justifying a participatory focus this time around. While we
are a young growing Organization, SOFA
believes that through networking and partnership we can contribute towards the
Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). It’s upon this background that we seek to
partner with your foundation/organization so that we are able provide better
services to the people we work for and/or with.
SOFA is seeking for your full attention
so that we are able to find ways on how we can partner and network in one way
or another. It’s now fully registered government CBO that has been approved by
government to serve with a charity status and registration certificate. The
scope of operation of SOFA is in diversity due to the different community needs
that arise as a result of family disintegration. This also entails HIV
sensitization, Family values, Gender balance, Sexual reproductive Health &
rights trainings, Counselling and guidance, Advocacy, Educational support to
HIV/AIDS orphans, Peace and Reconciliation, Empowerment, Reconstruction and
Rehabilitation. The organization has its headquarters in Jinja district,
Eastern Uganda.
SOFA at a Glance
Save Our
Families Africa is an upcoming organization which apparently cannot be able to
facilitate volunteers financially however; our door is open for volunteers who
have comprehensive knowledge about the above programs. It can be a good
experience to stay in Uganda while working with vulnerable people in different
communities, and therefore we encourage volunteers to join the team. Please
have a glance at our programs to support Save Our Families Africa. Thank you.
